Man... busy busy busy.
I love my job. I have written many many times about that but I'm still excited enough to repeat it.
I do not, however, love beer. I always think I do... but then I forget that beer when taken in excess leaves my stomach feeling most displeased for the next day. That said, it had been far too long since the last time I have been able to cheers pitchers and with freakpirate and cirdt willing to oblige...screw consequences.
I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3 yesterday. It is a pity because now all trilogies get compared to LOTR and this one does not compare well. I apologize if I offended Star Wars nerds but I am on record as more of a fantasy fan than a sci-fi scenester.
I further apologize but I really wanted a bit of alliteration in that sentence... scenester was the best I could come up with.
Anyhow... Pirates 3 had a brave sequence (more fitting with a "film" than a "movie") and more of the usual... a few lame gags and some awesome ship battles. Unfortunately it felt more like a paint by numbers than a loving tribute to all I loved about the first movie. I just... wanted more.
Hopefully Shrek 3 will rock my world when I find time to watch it.
We got a new kid at work. I have only been there for a bit over 2 months and this is the first job in my field that I have had. As such, I find he's the person with whom I should find myself closest to with regards to skill level and experience... yet it still has been really hard to connect with the guy.
He just seems... young.
I'm not sure if it is just me trying to convince myself that I actually didn't just waste my time since graduating or if there is an actual difference but it is something that has been on my mind.
In closing, Jagermeister is a fine drink... as is wine. I want wine.. it would really class up the soup I'm going to have for supper.

Brewster's is the place to go for samplers. Tasty, tasty samplers.
The octopus princess is not the one in the picture. That one is a boy. I think the princess may have escaped, though. I think another octopus was eaten and she is now in hiding.
