I won't be going on tour this year.
I guess this shouldn't be that big a downer... I wasn't even going to join choir this year if not for having some unfinished business to attend to (plus my love for actually being challenged once and a while which, though not the hardest group in the world to be in, our choir remains above average in my experience). Nonetheless I remain a bit torn since it seems kinda like leaving before dessert.
Also, it means I will be leaving dearest pearlygirl and awasis without supervision and the shenanigans those two will engage in boggles the mind.
in a good way.
Enough on that.
Anyhow, the reason I shant be attending; I finally got a job offer. After over a year of searching, I finally have an offer from a company who wants to take me on. I am excited; flexible hours (8 hours, only mandatory coverage is 10-2) and not too shabby a location. I am also scared shitless; finally I'm going to be doing something important.
Part of me is going to miss the flexibility offered by having a decent job you care nothing about. Dell has some really great people and I'll miss them. Especially my manager... I always feel so bad telling managers I'm leaving...
no, my ego really does know no bounds.
anyhow... that's my life. If I was a lesser man I would reference "Turn the Page" by Bob Seger or something like that.

Congratulations on the new job! And I understand being sad about not being able to go on tour. I'd be upset if I couldn't go on the Fringe tour, even though now that I can, I'm not entirely sure I want to. Yes, I know that doesn't make any damn sense.

I had a great time in Edmonton. Hopefully I'll be visiting again soon.
