Thus ends the weekend of everything.
Instead of leaving for my family's cottage in Sask Friday after work I instead chose to leave Friday at midnight. This gave me a chance to go to a friend's hot tub party. I was planning on sitting it out but, had I missed it, I would have missed every hot tub party for the remainder of the summer. That would have displeased me.
Anyhow, I went and a good time was had by all. Hot tubs are nice because even if there is no conversation topic at hand you can always engage in a rousing (arousing?) game of "who does this leg belong to?" It's like twister except with less clothes and more hot tub.
Midnight came and, though I didn't want to leave, it was nice to leave a party while there was still fun to be had. Trust me; it makes sense in my head. I then got to enjoy a DELIGHTFUL night time drive... I am told it should be the other way around but I vastly prefer night time driving. It's cooler, less sun in the eyes and fewer people. Also, while it meant I had to sleep in my car for a bit when I got tired, it means I got to Waskasiu at 11:30am or so instead of 4pm.
It kinda sucked that I drove all that way for only 2 days at the lake but I got a lot done. Grandpa's 84th birthday, Golfing with my dad, dragging my parents to see "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and seeing the best Northern Lights display I have seen as far as I can remember.
I also had the weirdest nightmare I've had in a while. for some reasonnn me and some other people (who I didn't know or recognize) were forced to enter a "reality tv" version of a movie I haven't seen. It was complicated to the point I didn't really understand the premise but the gist was that I was being haunted by a creepy 6 year old or so girl (think the evil girl from "Silent Hill" or, if you prefer, "The Ring") and my world would randomly warp into a surreal (black, white and red primarily) perspective where the girl would say scary things.
It sounds lame but it was scary enough I woke up with a gasp. To my knowledge that's the closest to waking up screaming I've come.
Las night I dreamed that I (and a few other key Edmontonians) were at an SG event in Calgary and we decided, on a whim, to drive to Halifax to buy Staples. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Still kinda does... if it was at all affordable. As such it was a nice dream except, of course, I had to wake up and live the life I have instead of the life I dreamed.
If real life could match how good I felt in that dream I would be most happy indeed. Oh well. Karaoke tonight.

lol one of the only things Saskatchewan is good for. A clear view of the northern lights and the august meteor shower!
