To cnbc.com,
While the polls say that "under god" should not be deleted from the pledge, I still feel strongly that it should be removed. Going through the public school system as an agnostic and being forced to recite the pledge made me remember just how much I despised my country for it's hypocritical lack of seperation of church and state. God is a religious idea, therefore should not be involved in politics in any way. But if the religious right had their way, Christ and the like would be in the pledge, so I'm sure many do not feel they should complain with something so vague as "God." I do not believe in God. And lately, I've been starting to not believe in my country either.
Sincerely,
Hazel

it goes way deeper than just the pledge.
consider the whole gay marriage issue. what's their reasoning?
the government (especially with the republicans in power) revolves it's policies around christianity. doesn't it just make you want to ?
secular, my ass... in fact, my right asscheek is more separate from my left than the church is from the state.
