I think a photographer should spend time in front of the camera to get a good feel for what its like for the model. I did just that I had a friend help me with a photoshoot for my s/o. Ie a dudeior type shoot and to tell you the truth I really enjoyed it and I was surprised how comfortable I felt with someone taking pictures of me with little or nothing on, it actually was an adrenaline rush of sorts that got my mind flowing with ideas I want to try and I feel it will help in the long run because I feel that if as a photographer I ask model to do something ie poses, styles ect. I think it really cool to be able to say to a model I honestly would do anything I ask of them and hopefully it would make a should shoot go by smooth.
