I had a really good night last night. Suicide Friday was fun as hell, as usual.
It was a good capper to what was otherwise a long frustrating week.
My clients from Hawaii are seriously getting on my nerves. You see they hired me to make them a website for their business, cause the one they had up before not only had the wrong company name on it, but it was really poorly done. None of the pages were consistent, the typeface changed mid paragraph, and really annoying music would playing on every page.
They got a new domain though a different company than where the site was hosted, and just had it redirect to the old site. When I put the new site up I went about getting the domain redelegated to the host. It takes a maximum of 72 hours for the name server change to post so I made sure to tell the client this so they can be prepared for the short time period where the URL won't work. There are 2 other domains connected to this site, one of them is the designated URL for the site, and the other is one that just redirects, that will continue to function. The redirect one is exactly the same as the one that I redelegated, but it's a .net instead of a .com.
Anywho, even after telling them all this, I still got a call from them telling me the website's down.
Morons. The site's not down, the domain is redelegating. The site is still there, and still accessable, just the .com domain is out of commission until Friday.
"Well that not gonna do us any good." They replied.
Ummm. I'm fixing your mickey mouse fuck up duct tape approach you took with your website, douche. I even had the hind site to have two additional URLs direct people to your website. I'm doing what you wanted me to do, so just let me do it. Furthermore, I've been working on this thing since February and I haven't received first payment on the first invoice yet.
I wish I could have said that.
Considering that I'm still making additions despite the fact that they owe me $850.00 I don't think they should be complaining. Makes me want to start charging them every time I talk on the phone with them.
Wait, that's a great idea.
I really hope they don't force me to put a lean on their property or something.
