Nothing like getting a text at 2am saying your friends have just been jump on their walk and one of them is in the hospital. 
My bestie Audrey sent me a text this morning saying she was sitting in the back of a cop car with our friends Shaun and Tyler and that Josh was in the hospital because they had been jumped while on a walk. We always go for walks really late at night, usually in Shaun's neighborhood which is very safe. So I don't know where they were, if Josh is ok, or any other details. I haven't been able to get back to bed because I'm so worked up about it. That and once I'm up, I have a hard time sleeping again.
I hope they are ok.

So this is what happened to my friends last night. I'm sure no one here knows where or what Emmaus, PA is...but it's basically the most white bread boring rural town in the Lehigh Valley. Typically, if I didn't have a broken ankle I would have been along for this walk too. Well my friends Audrey, Josh, Shaun and Tyler were out for a walk, I'm assuming a little after 1:30 cause I got a text from Audrey around 2. Apparently they were walking through the cemetery near Shaun/Josh's house's. Right before they entered the cemetery they noticed basically 5-6 people (um, let's big frank little ghetto hood rats) start like walking out of alleys and formed a group and I guess started following my friends. Everyone just assumed the hood rats would just pass them, and once they had reached the end of the cemetery the one girl that was with the group asked my friend Audrey like what street they were on and Josh apparently said something like "Hmm, what?" and out of no where one of the little thugs just started punching him in the face and pushed him against a grave stone and started hitting him. They also started beating on Shaun, doing the same thing. Apparently Tyler ran away, which I can't blame him, I probably would have done the same...and Audrey said she just stood there and called the cops. Of course they stole Josh's wallet and cell phone, dropping the phone in someone's yard so he got it back today, and all his wallet had in it was 12 bucks.
I had to laugh a bit of that Shaun yelled "It's the 21st century, just because I'm white doesn't mean I have any money!" after the little assholes ran away when the cops pulled up. The cops caught one of the thugs running down a main street in Emmaus, he had taken off one of the shirt he was wearing and holding it in his hands, when he was picked up he said he was running because he was scared because he had just been jumped too. Well, Audrey I.D.ed him as one of the guys who jumped them. What an ass. The guy is just 18, not even from there area, and staying with friends. He could go away for 15-20 years...just for $12. How sad is that. It's sad that music and tv and the media has made it seem like this shit is cool.
My friends weren't bothering anyone...they were walking around just talking and getting some fresh air. And now, we probably won't be going on any more walks. Which is a shame, because America has enough problems with obesity, now we can't fucking go on walks...because it's not safe.
