hello sg land!
what have you all been up to? i've been pretty flat-out with university work and moving my things across the city bag by bag
yesterday i bought and assembled a desk and manager's chair (by myself, thank-you very much ) so now my study is ready to go. carl installed our new printer as well, i just need to get some (recycled) paper for it so i can print out my lecture materials.
i have been making my mark on this house, fitting energy-efficient light globes in all the rooms and starting a compost heap in the corner of the back yard. also saving our shower and bath water for the washing machine and toilet. just need to switch to a green electricity provider and i will be very happy. also once dan and anna move out and there will be only one fridge in the house - i feel so bad about having two but the four of us just can't seem to fit all our foods in one
i am currently working just friday, saturday and sunday at the cafe. the boss is dicking me around a bit though, constantly changing my job description and rate of pay (which is cash, so i have to be vigilant every fortnight that i have been paid correctly). while this job suits me and my ethics so much, the manager is leaving in a month and i have a suspicion that the place will fall to shit without her. i feel bad about thinking this, but i will be looking around for other jobs in case i feel the need to jump ship when she goes overseas.
saw The Bronx last friday - most awesome show ever!!! truly insane performance AND i went out for drinks with them afterwards! (although i was a bit starstruck and didn't know what to say ) i met brody distillers for the first time that night too - as she is from melbourne we share a lot of friends but hadn't met until then. she was so sweet even though she was having awful personal problems at the time
this weekend i am going to a wedding of two friends of mine and carl's - in an aquarium! it will be my first wedding, hope it will be fun.
currently appreciating an array of australian punk bands. i urge the whole world to check out The Black Market, Just Say Go!, The Jerks, Bad Day Down and For Sold.
thanks for reading, take care of each other! xox jen

There's a couple of job openings here in the office which I could apply for come friday, which will mark my first year in my current job. This would mean staying until about 20:00 in the damn office but I'd be making a fair amount of extra money.
Damn, growing up sure does suck ass.
