hey all!
had wasted festival on the weekend, it was brilliant! so many ace bands, so many close friends
spent the whole day with run for cover from wollongong, NSW. havn't seen them since the bouncing souls tour in april so it was rad to hang with them!
met fever and her man's band the homocides! she's here til the end of the week, we will hook up again at the unseen, yay!
rocked out with some of my favourite ladies holly and danni, among many, many others
shortly saw the lovely paddy from sydney but missed his band the corps, then he had to fly back home to play a gig with his other band SC trash, what a trooper!
but that's nothing compared to carl - he played the pre-wasted gig on friday night with his new(er) band spent shells, on saturday he went from work to another gig with them, then came straight to wasted arriving 5 minutes before getting onstage with his decade-old band no idea, then the next night played with spent shells again and THEN took us all to the post-wasted gig - i thought he was going to combust!!! after last night's shows was the first time he got any sort of sleep and was back at work today for another 6 days straight of tattooing, i am humbled and amazed...
but the best part of the weekend was hanging out with my favourite living band the black market. i love them so much it kills me! and they brought a bus load of brisbane punks down to melbourne with them, most notably toby's beautiful partner julee - much love sister! it was ace! they played the best set i have ever seen them do and i enjoyed the most energetic slam pit of the whole night
going on tour with them again next month, killer! and it's lovely to know they wouldn't have it any other way
if toby can add the dates he's trying to then i may just turn 20 in a van, sweet!
and this weekend is the unseen shows with my close comrades the disables and mispent youth, can it get any better?!
in non-gig news i have been pondering that question of late and am forging some new plans.
i think i applied to uni in major part to impress my family, mainly my dad, to prove i can make something of myself. i don't think i really want to study arts. if i'm going to be a broke student again it will be while learning how to be a tour manager. to do that i will need to both move in with my man, or at least to his suburb where the TAFE is, and get my drivers' license. i just want to live the rock'n'roll lifestyle and get paid, is that so much to dream?
love to all xox
