death as a spectacle. death as entertainment
worked a ten hour shift today.
we open at 8am on a saturday morning. we close at 6pm on a saturday evening. i was there open to close. why do customers feel the need to fill the store between 5pm and 6pm then complain if they arrive after 6pm and we won't let them in.
at 6.10pm i am walking out the front door, a customer is waiting outside the door and attempts to walk in. keep in mind he had just spent the previous 5 minutes waving at the door, jumping up and down and trying to get our attention because the doors wouldnt open
me: you cant go in, its closed
customer: but i just want
me: i dont care what you want, it is closed. the registers are closed you cannot give them money. there is no stock to sell to you until 9am tomorrow morning.
customer: but i just need a...
me: what part of closed do you not understand? points to sign that has hours writtne on it come back at 9am tomorrow.
i walk away and get into my car without looking back to see what the customer did
by the time i got home i was feeling more than slightly homicidal. i received three messages asking me what i was doing tonight. I havent replied to one. im not doing anything, therefore i have no reply. i also have a zit on my chin. i noticed it just then.
the girls at work gave me a "november birthday pony" my little pony for my birthday. that made me happy.
i also bought new pens. i love buying new pens and pens in general. they make me happy and whenever i get a new pen i am always inspired to write.
my favourite new pen is a stabilo bionic, the special edition:
it writes oh so nicely.
& I also bought a packet of papermate vibz. its a three pack of pens, one green, one purple and one pink. barrels and colour of the ink. but they have rainbow cushioned grips all the way up and write pretty nicely but look and feel uber fucking cool.
I feel kind of sad though, because I dont wish to neglect my favourite pen my hotpink doctor grip which served me through this year of uni, or my black dr. grip which did my first two years of uni. i must give them all equal treatment. and only use the officeworks brand blue retractable pens in dire neccessities or for scribble.
I love the fact that i can colour co-ordinate all my stationary. at work everyone lets me know when new pink stuff has come in. this years pink is barbie pink. last years was a darker shade of barbie pink and the year before was fluro pink. i have pink paperclips, pins, post its (pale pink & fluro pink), a notepad, notebooks, folders (MANY shades of pink from baby pink to magenta).
Don't get my started on my love for notebooks. really.
Heading off to newtown festival sometime tomorrow to check out the markets. whenever i can arise out of my dark grey cloud of a bad mood.

On the pen front, the words: "Peppermint Pens" keep popping into my head, along with the image of edible candy pens. They're probably already out there in Bulgaria or something.
Oh...hello by the way - my first post
