with only a few days until the election, i'm starting to get really, really nervous.
i just watched obama's fireside chat, and i didn't even make it through before i was crying. hearing the people talk about barely making the rent, and elderly couples talk about not being able retire really got to me. i worry that my parent's won't be able to retire, and about the amount of debt that i know their in, let alone my insane amount of debt. i worry that i will never get out of the retail world and really use my degree. i worry that my sister and nephew will have to go without. i worry that i won't be able to go home for xmas and thanksgiving.
i don't understand how anyone in america could possibly vote for mccain. i don't understand how people can hate obama, and call him all the awful things they do, or threaten his life.
i've watched my father change jobs a million times, and seen my own mother go without medical care to pay for my school fees. my grandfather came out of retirement because he had to. my sister and cousins are on wellfare. i work seven days a week. this can't be it for us. there has to be a better way, a light at the end of the tunnel.
and i do believe obama is it.
i know a lot of people that aren't voting because they say their vote won't matter, that they're fed up with politics, that they don't get anything from it. trust me, this is the most important election in our history. i'm not going to get into some liberal rant, but i am going to ask you to remember that you are your brother's/sister's keeper, and nows the time to start taking care of each other.
please vote obama.
