Thursday night, and I'm beat. Eveyone I've encountered over the past few days seems hopeful that the New Year will bring better things to them. Aside from our horrible Hurricane experience, which shouldn't go without mentioning, 2005 was a good year for me. I began a journey that I've always dreamed of traveling-- opening my own cafe. Without considering the possibility of failure, I've thrown myself into a fine whirlwind that's been more fun and sometimes nauseating than surfing the vortex of a funnel cloud (we like t' call 'em "tErNadeRs" here in the 'ole deep south.) ....but I've been privy to the ins & outs of "Hurricane Relief," met people from an astounding 45 states, and fed plenty of evacuees and volunteers that were gracious, kind and interesting folk.
Even with the destruction, power outages and problems we've faced. it has been a fascinating year. I do look forward to a fulfilling 2006 in the sense that my family and friends continue to be content, safe and feelin' fine' but for me..... If things go as well as this past year, I'll be one happy gal. Cheers to all!

it's great to hear of success in a very negative world. i have found throughout my years in business that a very positive person can find no end to what you can do with your professional and personal life. here's to '06 and i can only say if i personally meet anyone named Rita i may turn the other way this year.
