I'm feeling pretty sick and tired right now. Last night I was so incredibly tired that I passed out face down on the couch after watching my roommate play Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle on the Wii. I was awoken by a pug and a puggle stomping on my head licking my face, and then I can't sleep for real. So now it's a new morning and I still feel like shit.
I'm sad, because even though Grindhouse was awesome, unfortunately, it's already considered a box office flop. It only made 11 million opening weekend and made less money then mother fucking Are We Done Yet? They're apparantly going to release the movies as seperate films internationally to help recoup their losses. That's really too bad, because it was a pretty fucking amazing movie event and I had a blast, and I hate seeing legitimately cool things fail.
My new website, I HEART DISAPPOINTMENTis going well so far. It's first month had a little over 2300 visitors, which is way higher then my old website's first month got when it first started. Most of the feedback has been positive, which is cool. Right now I'm in the character introduction phase, and I can't wait until I can get most of that over and done with so I can start writing the parts I'm really looking forward to drawing. I know I shill this thing all the time and a lot of people may not care at all, but I really love doing comics and drawing things for fun. My life is pretty fucking boring most of the time, and I feel like I'm getting at least something out of my life when I create. I'd love to make a living doing it, but if I can't then I hope I can still keep doing it as a hobby.
I'm going through another "I hate my job" phase, mainly because they're introducing a new standardized dress code that requires me to basically buy a whole new wardrobe clothes and colors I don't particularly like. I'm not a blue shirt, tan khakis kind of guy. Maybe I should get a job as a wacky t-shirt designer. I hear that the money's decent and it doesn't require any talent or originality. If you don't get what I'm taking about, read Roman Dirge's livejournal post about "artist" Todd Goliath. It's a blow by blow account of plagiarism of the most obvious degree.
I'm going to Anime Boston with the pals this year again. Missed the pre-registration cut off date, we all did, so I guess it's the line for us. It'll be fun, though.
