Ahoy Shipmates!
It's been a long time coming this new post, but I finally found time for it through the art shows and Bestival weekend! I can feel myself needing to sit down with some Guinness and groovetastic tunes and work my way through all the jazztastic things you've been up to. I'm liking the amount of bullet-point style updates people are doing, so here's mine...
* Bestival was INCREDIBLE: highlights of the weekend include Kraftwerk (who quite honestly sweat good ideas), the Underworld DJ set, Fleet Foxes, DJ Yoda, Fake Blood, Seasick Steve, Grum, The Horrors, 2ManyDJs and Carl Cox's Old Skool set! Was tres orgasmic. I was also lucky enough to meet Rob Da Bank whilst he was doing his rounds. My mate and I seemed to be the only one to recognize him.
* On other notes, I have been touring with the Spitfire Collection (a travelling troupe of artists, standups, musicians and filmmakers which I aided in setting up). I was meant to produce three short films, but could only muster up two, a DJ set and some random collage work. This little chap is now my advertisement for the spin-off shows: Captain Cod's Tinned Fruit Cocktail.
* Only 19days and I shall be heading for the Big Smoke to set up my new life in a Quality Street tin sized room, with ensuite Heinz can! The wonders of Facebook have thankfully allowed me to meet SO MANY folk who're gonna be on campus. I'm not liking how they all seem to be looking to me to organized and MC the proceedings just because I did a first year of University prior to this one.
With that responsibility also comes the need to remain a brick to all those who're missing home, but I kind of like that in a way. Makes me feel like I have a role to play.
* I keep having this over-romanticized ideas. It's the same situation every year when Autumn is just around the corner and I imagine cuddling up with a lovely lady under a blanket of stars as it's a little chilly, drinking red wine and talking long into the night. Wonderful stuff! When I bugger off to London though, I'm determined to seek out this one stunningly fun girl. Sad, soppy twat that I am !
That's about it for now, but I shall be checking all of your profiles tonight! Keep it unreal party animals!
