We drove through neighborhoods
full of sensible homes
and quite a few speed bumps
singing,"this is the worst trip,
that I've ever been on."
we both love that song when
we just don't expect too.
and beneath those homes,
it's quiet,
damp earth and bones,
and things growing and
the house is sinking,
surely
in value
rising.
It's been an interesting week. At one point I proclaimed, as a single man I was quite in touch with my selfishness. Living with children has taught me that. Seeing people given greater purpose because of a love for another has taught me that. It's humbling. It softens me.
Proof.
Christ, I feel like one of those parents who just wants to tell you every damn little thing the kid has done.
