How cool was Rockit?
rockit
If you dont know, it was pretty damn cool, except for the shortage of stubby holders (although i managed to lay my paws on a pink one and a rockit tee that me and my boy can both wear) and the fact that it was fucking hot and there was fuck all sunscreen around...oh and there should have been two merchandise tents.
I managed to get hit on by two girls at the same time (friends- who i batted off-ANY girl who wears a mini to an outside concert has no brains!), to convince an old guy to give me his last spliff, a woman to let me infront of her at the merchandise tent and i found four drink tickets (which will get you two beers, four cans of soft drink, or a stubby holder and a bottle of water.
I thought the prices were pretty good, but the organisation wasn't exact, noone who worked for transperth even knew about the free public transport with rockit tickets, there were heaps of fake tickets floating around the outside, there weren't enough toilets (as always) or sunscreen.
I got a burnt nose, I stepped in some guys puddle of pee, i was skint by the time i got home (and completely sober) and the pill i was bought was a waste in that atmosphere..
...although the mosh pit was going off, the shade tents allowed me to not get burnt like a crispy fried chicken and also allowed me to organise to meet up with people i knew.
Shihad went off! (i love that they changed their name back), for a little guy their frontman goes wild, it was great to see them again cause the last time i did they were called Pacifier and i actually heard ppl in the audience say "who the fuck are they?"
Grinspoon were the same as they are always live, which isn't bad, it's just the norm really, they belted out their tunes and got off stage asap, no chatting with the crowd or anything really.
Frenzal were there typical selves, wild and wacky and spurring on the crazy crowd of people who think it's nirvana/offsprings heyday still..Y'know the mosh and kick variety..Fucking circle moshers. crazy shit.
Scribe was awesome and had wicked presence, captured my attention even though i'm not all that fussed on his music, He sounds the exact same live as he does recorded (as does shihad might i add).
Simple plan were okay, i guess if thats you kinda thing, the best part of their set was the dumb pop punkette girls flashing their itty bitty boobies, as their frontman said "we looove perth-BOOBIES!-YEAH!!! i saw those!"...and a whole pile of guys who thought they were "REAL" punks cause they were wearing t-shirts that said "simple plan...." on the front and "not gettin any......BETTER" on the back.
Greenday went off, and i really enjoyed the set...that and listening to billy joe's lovely american accent telling the ppl in the mosh pit to stop crushing each other and his acdc style guitar dancing
That was yesterday..
Today i cleaned the house.
Watered the gardens.
Teching bf to cook and things tonight.
more later...when i have a reason to write.
