Spent Tuesday night through Sunday morning at my Dad's house back in Malta. Went home for my oldest niece's high school graduation, saw a whole lot of family I hadn't seen in a long time, finally saw The Avengers (my brother-in-law had a bootleg; I still want to see it in a theater), did some carpentry work with my dad, ate like I was a...

I am trying to stick around. I just feel kinda annoyed at the interface and the people I have tended to come across. People don't often seem too interested in chatting with me, which makes it a bit depressing to sign on and see nothing from no one.

Speaking of behavior change and bravery (and well-crafted songs wink ), there's this:

Honestly I didn't pay any attention to the meaning. So it's the well crafted part that I don't agree with. But hey to each his own. Hope you're doing well this evening sir.

Steven Levitt & Stephen Dubner, from Super Freakonomics (on the introduction of the seat belt to automobiles):

"McNamara was of course right: the seat belt would eventually save many lives. But the key word here is "eventually."

The brilliant rationalist had encountered a central, frustrating tenant of human nature: behavior change is hard. The cleverest engineer or economist or politician or parent may come...

a change in behavior usually means someone has to accept the way they have been acting and sometimes say "i'm sorry". people are as stubborn as weeds. we try to rid ourselves from the ugliness that weeds are but they just keep popping up all around you.

thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning.

Just woke up startles and somewhat anxious from a dream in which a friend and I ran into my ex at a comic shop. First thought my dream self had, "What is she doing in a comic book store? Highly unusual..." So, we all say brief, curt hellos, and then my ex, not quite looking directly at me, says, "It looks like our work here...

Hello, any and all. The book purge is finished. Now three boxes of books need to find a new home(s). In the process of cataloging the aforementioned hundreds of comics in order to type a list for the comic store owner. Lots of cramped writing hand going on. I've been pretty disciplined about hitting the gym 4 - 5 times a week. The number on...

Hey All,

Things are good. Loving the new living situation. All of it; more space, cool, easygoing roommate, shortened commute, all good. Contemplating a book purge.. I believe I can get down to one bookshelf, then move the other to the living room for use as DVD storage/ display... also hoping to transform roughly 2,400 comics into some money for much need car repairs. And...

Getting ready for my first marathon in October. Figured I'd finally attempt one after taking up running 14 years ago.

Looking forward to that Danzig show....especially The Misfits stuff.

I will keep up with the plat pics as long as I keep finding them!

Pretty much sums it up for now:

I feel caught in a stalemate. All possible moves appear to be lateral; at best slight distractions from the current situation, as opposed to actual progress. Going around in ever tightening circles.... looking for inspiration (and opportunity), but a watched pot indeed never boils... bleh, enough misery and boredom for now, I hope everyone out there (in here)...
