So, it's currently open-enrollment for benefits at my place of employment. Aside from being a generally good thing to have, in addition to, I believe, soon-to-be required by law, aquiring health insurance will make things financially MORE difficult... I feel like the only thing to do is go ahead and sign-up and then hurredly get another job. As it is, I'm wanting to switch departments, but now it's seeming that moving to the pharmacy MAY put me in a position with even less possibility for future advancement than the already slim chances of such a thing happening in my current department (Food Court and Deli)... at least the pharmacy will provide some learning oppurtunities, which (despite the notion that there's always room for improvement) have been pretty much exhausted where I'm at.. However, the hours needed in the Pharmacy will make it more difficult to get said second job...
In regards to a second job: I love to read, and very much like to read to (appreciative) people... anyone want to hire me to come and read Caitlin R. Kiernan to them? Or Kelly Link? Joe Lansdale? Sociology or sociology texts? Malcolm Gladwell? Steven Pinker? Charles De Lint? William Gibson? Willaim s. Burroughs? The Sunday Comics??? Seriously, I'm down... travel re-imbursement and/ or meals required as well...
Have a great day, SG friends...
