Thursday 9th June 2016 - I woke up to the bright orange glow of my tent and sound of the aircraft taking off/landing across the road (literally east midlands airport runway was across the road from my "quiet" campsite) I checked the time to find out it was only 5 in the morning 24 hours earlier I was boarding the train to get here and now once again I was awake at an insanely early time in the morning but I was awake none the less so I decided to walk into the main camp arena to my locker and plug my phone in for an hour or 3. I felt strange as the last time I was here there was thousands of people now you could look around and count them on 1 hand. The only place that was open was the 24 hour breakfast café so I decided to go in for a bacon sandwich before heading back to my tent to try and get a bit more sleep. An hour later I was up again and ready for the first of my Thursday at download traditions a trip in to Derby city centre to pick up the last of the supplies I need for the weekend and picking up a few things for my friends. I returned to camp a few hours later and went back to my tent to change my shirt for my second Thursday at download tradition wearing a t shirt that has FREE HUGS on it. my record for most hugs was 25 set in 2013 and in the walk from my tent to my friends tents I almost broke that record and also broke the record for the biggest group hug with 6 people. Spending the day with my friends was interesting to say the least. One friend who I have got to know well over the past few months but I had never seen her drunk before this day and to say she is a mean drunk would be an understatement. Later on we went up to the comedy tent to see Kunt and the gang who was funny as fuck and that ended my 2nd day at download with no idea what would lay ahead for the weekend
