It's been a week since I returned home (for the 2nd time) from download festival at Donington park and for me it was a mixed weekend for many reasons.
Wednesday 8th June 2016 - I was like a kid on Christmas morning. As much as I wanted to, as much as I needed to I just couldn't go to sleep. I had packed and repacked my stuff several times over the past 2 weeks and now that time had come. it was 4:30 in the morning I call a taxi and I was ready to begin my adventure. Next up the 5:10 train from Sheffield to Derby and a 30 bus ride to Donington park the place I would call home for the next 5 days. I arrived about 6:45am a couple hundred fellow early birds were already there. At 10:30am an hour and a half before the campsite gates were meant to open we were allowed in. The sun was beaming down and by the time I finally managed to drag myself and my stuff to the quiet campsite I was absolutely exhausted. After finally managing to put my tent up and inflate my airbed (Thank god I decided to buy a electric motor for my airbed as if I'd have had to use a foot pump it would have killed me) everything was sorted and I was ready to lay down and catch up on some much need sleep except NOPE. As soon as I entered my tent I could feel the sweat pour off me. I felt like an oven inside my tent and no matter what I tried it was clear it wouldn't cool down anytime soon so I thought fuck it let go explore. So off I went around the campsite arena and to meet up with my friends where the drinks started to flow. Thankfully by about 7pm the sun started to set and things started to cool down the perfect time to head back to my tent and get some much needed rest and that was the end of day 1 of my Download festival 2016
