I thought I would spend today looking at awareness documentaries and fueling the activist fire. Look at what is wrong with the world and decide to change it. However, I fell asleep.
It wasn't a complete fail. . . I did finish watching "The Cove" which was very sad.
Oh my GLOB it was heartbreaking. I did fall asleep not long after and awoke starving! It was 8:36pm and I hadn't had a single thing to eat since 1pm. Now, to most of you that may not seem like a big deal but I love the little things in my life and a good, tasty meal is one of them.
I made my self some leftover spaghetti and buttered sourdough toast. DELICIOUS but it would have been even more tastier if I had made the sauce my self and put vegetables in it. Vegetables in spaghetti is heavenly. Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, peppers. . . they're all good. Even bamboo slices are good and add a cool effect when you're eating it as well as an interesting sound when you munch on the bamboo hahaha
A thing I did different was season the ground beef I put in it. I usually don't, just brown it and throw it in! But on this day I craved something more complex. More flavor and a better experience. I added a heap of Italian seasoning, garlic salt and pepper. It smelled beautiful and mixed with the sauce. . . incredible.
The tangy-ness of the sourdough toast and the tomato are gift from the gods. Dipping sourdough toast into a good tomato sauce is a snack I could never get tired of.
I finished my dinner and did various things about my room when I decided I wanted to watch a film and a damn good one at that. I picked out "Paper Heart" because I've heard its really wonderful and heart warming which is something I can use right now. However, when I went to press play the oddest thing happened. It wasn't "Paper Heart" at all, it was still a love story but a different kind of love. It was "Julie & Julia" and I can't say I was disappointed since I have been wanting to see that film quite a bit.
Well, I decided to watch it and then I realized I didn't want [ or was meant] to look at what was bad in the world and change it today. I wanted to look at what was good in the world and embrace it, hold it and love it to bits and pieces.
Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
I couldn't have said it better myself.
I've decided to give the effort I've always wanted to give into cooking better. I love cooking. I truly believe it is magic in one's life. People can fall in love, agree, appreciate, dance, sing, smile, laugh and turn their lives around because of food. How is that NOT magic? It will always be magic and one of the purest forms of it.
I want to cook French food and Italian. Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian. . all of it. I have a massive 851 page cookbook underneath my laptop and I can't wait to open it! It's Luigi Carnacina's: Great Italian Cooking (La Grande Cucina Internazionale). I love to feed people good food and I love to be fed good food. Home made meals. . . there are only few things better than it.
Sweet Dreams Darlings. . . when you wake I only hope you have the best of breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
Don't forget dessert. . . the very reason of life and love can be found in a great dessert with someone you care about.
Love You
xx
