I PASSED MY MTELS!!!!!! For those not in the know, that's "Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure" and I just found out that I passed. There I was, sitting here in one of my favorite places on earth, not expecting to have the scores until later today when they just showed up all nonchalant in my inbox. I didn't get the actual scores but I "met the minimum requirement" on both sub-tests. What does this mean? It means that I am one small step away from being a "real" teacher (having my own classroom and whatnot) and that I can now start working toward my Masters. The school I want to go to made passing these tests a primary stipulation for matriculating into the M.Ed. program. I can now walk into the dean's office, scores in hand and register for classes this fall if I want to. And I really do want to.
