Urgh, what a week for MR!


Movies
I saw a movie last night as part of a market research thing. It was free, so even though I would never in a million years have gone to see this particular movie, I went. I was pleasantly surprised... so my suggestions for culling scenes were actually quite few and far between. I truly hope they get rid of two in particular... but aside from that, it was definitely better than expected. How cryptic! Sorry. I'm not even meant to say I saw anything at all... But I do love being all secretive and mysterious

I also saw The Vow. It was meant to be heaps girly and make me cry. It didn't. I'd skip it if I were you.

DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE TRAILER FOR EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE BECAUSE I AM NOT IMPRESSED AND WANT TO BOYCOTT IT FOREVER.


Dinner with pretty ladies
Its not only the Ohio and SA ladies that get to hang out in groups of sexy. The lovely Jovankat and Puffin and I went out for Japanese over the weekend. Mmmm... raw fish... Stole Jovankat's shot of dinner because mine was terrible

Through the site I've met a bloke who has been extremely encouraging of my work. His girlfriend has painted some of my photos, and they bought the hi res files of one set to get a shot printed. Check itttt.

Shooting people other than myself
I was asked to photograph my boy's mate and his girlfriend. It was worthwhile getting up early, it turned out quite beautifully. I'll show you a few, excuse the colouring, they're calibrated for my printer.






Tropfest
So, Tropfest. I. Love. Tropfest. Its the biggest short film festival and I always have loads of fun. This year started off extremely sunny and beautiful- actually, TOO sunny and beautiful. I think I had about a gallon on sunscreen on my whole body, I kept reapplying about every 20 minutes. See, this is about 4pm. Well, my beer about 4pm. But you can see the sun is shining.


And then about 5pm... the clouds rolling in...


And I can't find a damn photo of the lightning or it bucketing down! But rest assured... it was pouring. There was flash flooding and drama and whatnot. This was me once I got home


The biggest reaction the crowd gave was laughter to the old prankster couple film (I'll try and find it in a minute) and the lightning. Everyone's sitting there going "Awwww shit." And when I saw everyone, I mean, a lot of people. See,


I lasted until the halfway point, and then decided to cut my losses and go. I was cold and wet and slimy (combination of so much sunscreen and the rain...) and I wanted a hot chocolate and bed! I'm an old lady. I still had a lot of fun though, some films were funny, one made me cry... It was just beautiful, as well as having a sad ending. I'll try and find that one too. We also played charades for about half an hour to kill some time before it started. I love me a good game of charades.

Oh, and Aussies, guess who was sitting in front of me? George Negus! It was weird seeing him in shorts. And he was just hanging out with about a dozen hipsters. On ya, George.

Okay, I can't find the ones from this year other than the winner... so here are some older short films. They all come highly recommended, so watch 'em! But... if you only want to watch one... make it this first one.
