Those of you who are my friend on Facebook have probably already heard the news, but for those of you who havent I'm just letting you know my mother has landed herself in the hospital.
Basically what happened was, my mom was getting out of an SUV. She was driving it, and parking in a steep driveway. Just as he had both feet on the ground, the truck popped out of park and threw itself into reverse. She tried getting out of the way, but she was stuck on something. She things it was probably the door handle.
By that time, the truck picked up momentum, rolling down the driveway and pulled her underneath it. Eventually it stopped and she was able to walk herself up the driveway, into the garage to get a phone. She called my grabdpa and he called an ambulance for her. For any of you who know my mother, you know she was being stubborn and didnt want to go. The EMT's were asking her questions, and they asked her if the truck actually ran her over, and she couldnt answer them. She wasnt entirely sure, so thats when they called in the helicoptor. She didnt want to go in it, but they made her because of the risk of internal bleeding. They ran a bunch of tests on her and for the most part she's okay.
She broke her back and she's all scarped up but I was able to get down to Toms River to see her in the hospital and she should be out today. She's in good spirits and just wants some chocolate.
In other news, I was able to get myself a second job at a cosmetics store, and Im getting more hours at my other job which is awesome. Aaaaaand, Im all set to start school on September 14th.
