All right. Not sure how to go down this road here without people taking it the wrong way. I am not very happy about how this nation is becoming divided on trying to help hurricane victims. Why can't we all come together and make it not about class or race and just help the people who need it. I am watching the concert tonight that is airing on a lot of the networks tonight. Then I am flipping through channels and get to BET. I see a banner hanging up that says "Saving Ourselves". WTF? Why do people have to draw a fuckin line all the time? This really pisses me off. Why is this becoming a race issue? If I could go down and help I would. I have done other things to help here. If I was rescuing people it wouldn't matter what sex/race/class they were. All that would matter is that they were people and not only that they are Americans. I also think that Bush shouldn't be critiqued for not sending help faster. It takes a foot of paperwork for the government, democrats or republicans, to do anything. There are some of us in this country that need to stop raising so much shit about sex/race/class and just get on with it. Please don't think that these views are from just a white male, know that there are people of every sex/race/class that feel the same way.
Just help Americans in their time of need. If you are worried about helping one sex/race/class then you have to look around and see what this world is made of.
Hopefully this didn't offend anyone because it wasn't meant too. It was meant to open peoples minds and realize that it isn't just about them. It is about people who need others right now.
Have a great weekend.
