Just watched the whole Concert For George DVD. What a great tribute to a guy who inspired so many. I think out of all the Beatles he was my favorite. He was the guitar player and the one that just sat back and watched the others. The quiet Beatle as he was called.
The first half had nothing but East Indian music. I almost skipped over that whole section, but very glad I didn't. It made me realize even more why Eric Clapton is probably the most diverse guitar player I have ever heard. He played with the Indian music with an acoustic guitar and kept perfect time. The Indian lady that was conducting had tears rolling out her eyes when he played. He is almost one hundred percent responsible for getting me into the blues and getting me to work hard playing.
If you get a chance watch the dvd it is well worth it.
p.s. If I ever have a little girl her name should be Layla. After one of the greatest songs of all time.
