"I sure would like to have you build me a guitar one day"... "One of these days, me, you and our brothers will get together and have a jam session". Words said to me by my best friend's brother Anthony, and he sure did like the guitars I built, and was always impressed with each one he saw. His older brother Jeff is my age, and Jeff played in our band back in our younger days. I knew that Anthony was musically talented because I knew he played sax. Later in life, he picked up the guitar and started playing it... basic stuff at first, but then one year he got serious and really learned it. He was good!! I wish both sets of brothers could have gotten together and had a jam session.
Monday morning, Anthony's sister messaged me and informed me that he had lost his battle to the virus. As I type these words now, it's still surreal and hard to believe. All of this has been so difficult for people all around the world, but it's really scary when it hits so fucking close to home!! My heart is heavy, my head is in a fog, and I can't think clearly. Covid is REAL... the vaccine is effective! Protect yourself and be careful... I'm even going to get the booster shot on Friday. I'm so tired.
