My birthday was great.
Almost all my close friends, people who I care about and treasure were able to make it. Especially those who were there for me last fall when I needed them the most.
We had a few drinks and met up at Cafe Presse after I got off of work at Licorous, Then, back to Licorous for cocktails, then Lark for dinner.
We ended up having 16 different plates.
Cheese, Baby carrots, Rosti potatoes, farro, Foie Terrine, Pork Rilletes,Sardines, Scrambled eggs, Pork belly, Squab, Pork Liver, Four different desserts..it was all great. Wine was flowing the entire time and much fun was had. We were extremely well taken care of. David came out and dropped off the liver and told us about them, Dan our server was great with choosing wines for us, everything was perfect!
Even when the bill came, I was in shock how much they left off of it. Then more cocktails at Licorous, drive back to the ferry, passing back a bottle of fernet branca back and forth, then whiskey and beetlejuice at my apartment. Good birthday.
Since then, I'm starting day 11 of working without a day off. In the last 7 days I worked 74 hours. Isn't salary fun? Not right now. Also, my gout attacked my body with full force friday night because of my birthday. I'm having a lot of trouble walking and working right now. I'm trying to cleanse best I can.
This Tuesday is my last day at Prima..it's freaking me out a little bit. It's the end of an era for me, and for them in a sense.
Then Wednesday, I start my calf tattoo, and after that we're doing our pig roast. a 75 pound pig. Jesus that's a lot of meat.
