As promised.
Last night was a lot of fun. Surprisingly enough, not a drop of alcohol was consumed by me, and because of that I remember the whole night pretty vividly. If there were going to be any nights that tempted me, last night was going to be one of them that pushed that line.
I met up with Jon for food at Cafe Flora, a vegetarian restaurant(my god, I know).
It was pretty damn good. I liked it a lot. It was good seeing Jon again I haven't hung out with him in quiet some time.
After chauffeuring ( asshole ) him around awhile I dropped him off back home and I headed to Shorty's.
Pinball by myself for an hour or so, and as I'm thinking I've run out of quarters and I'll grab a snack and head home, Kicks and Angela show up to my surprise. I had figured he was already out of town. So, I decided to stay since I probably wouldn't see him again for 3 months or so, and quiet glad I made that decision.
After pinball for a few hours, we grab some snacks and beer and head back to Kick's for the intention having a chill night and just watching a movie, and then I'd head home on the last ferry. Wrong!
We chat it up, share stories, listen to music and just shoot the shit. People pop their heads in and out, saying Hi, eventually Roman (or..Herbie? I'm not entirely sure what his name was. Drummer from Greatest hits. All I know about the guy) swings back by and Angela falls asleep, we chat, and then some of Kick's other upstairs neighbors popped in. Jimmy was smashing a tin lid of Santa claus over his head repeatedly, and they invited us to come up to their place for some rock n roll, beer and pot. After Kicks and Roman finish their beer and story, we walk outside Kick's apartment and can hear the guitar from the 1st floor. They were on the 3rd.
Head up there to Jimmy rocking out on the guitar for some time, making up songs as he goes. Scotty eventually takes up guitar, Jimmy taking over vocals making up songs as he goes. Suck classics as "I'll kick you in the eye" "Punk rock spikes" various country ballads..oh, it was a lot of fucking fun watching those fuckers rock the fuck out. Lauren got a bunch of videos and pictures. Kick's wearing an afro wig, rocking out with them doing back up vocals. Scotty remembering the quote from Waynes World "Come bust a move where the games are played, it's chill, it's fresh, it's Noah's Arcade. " and laughing so hard he almost broke a chair, and was on the floor in pain, unable to breathe.
The night finally ended around 6 am or so, Kicks almost unable to walk down the stairs needing to wake up for work in an hour, people dispersing, Scotty going to the bar now that they're open, and me on my way home.
Good stories, music, friends and memories.
God bless the city.

Yay! I've always suspected that just going out and doing all the regular things people do when they're drunk might be just as fun sober...

Just move to Seattle. Hey, thanks for being my driver, and thanks for not molesting me too much in the back of the van!
