So this is how it happened, the most rediculous thing to happen to Kevin and I in a long time:

Kevin walks into my house to pick me up so we can go get some food and then go to the Depeche Mode show. He parks his truck and comes in, we're in there for like 2 minutes and we leave to head off to Montanas for food. We walk out to his truck, Kevin with keys in hand, we look into his truck and both stop dead when we see an old man sitting in the drivers seat of his truck. I'm like "Do you know this guy?". Of course he didn't.

Yes, an old man got into Kevin's truck and locked himself in.

Kevin opened up his truck and was like "uhhh... what are you doing?". To which the old man replied, "It won't turn over." "That's because I have the keys" Kevin replied.

Apparently he wanted to take it around the block.

He got out of the truck but wouldn't move from the door so Kevin couldn't get in. The guy wouldn't let him in the truck. He started saying nonesense streams of words and military jargan. I'm on the other side of the truck laughing my ass off, the old man turns to me and so eloquently says "If you get smushed by a car it's not going to be my fault!". I leave and go off inside laughing and tell everyone what's going on and my mom's like "The crazy old guy?! John! The crazy old man locked himself in Kevin's truck!" "The military guy?" "yes!". So now everyone's outside witnessing what's going on. At this point the convorsation between this guy and Kevin has escalated to something like; "Get your hands off the truck!" "It's my truck!" "I know that!".

We all back off and the guy gets back in the truck and sits there for a while. He opens up the door long enough to yell something nasty at me. I'm going to assume it was something nasty though because I couldn't make out what it was. He was nice to my brother though, he was like "Hello, love" and he waved to him.

John goes into check it out and asks the guy to get out but he won't. So we call the cops. Now we're all in my back yard looking over the fence at what's going on. He gets in and out and opens any door he can and looks inside everything. Of course the cops are taking forever and we're running out of time until we have to leave for the show.

Eventually some grade school soccer coach stops and sees whats going on because the man is now circling the truck and holding up traffic. While the soccer coach is talking to him the old mans wife comes and tries to get him to come home. Yes, he has a wife apparently.

The cops finally show up. 3 of them. And they're like "oh, that guy. Well, we'll go talk to him again."

And the climax is, we got into the truck finally and Kevin is like "He stole my bottle of Rain X! Who steals Rain X?" There was a lot of better stuff to steal.

We hadn't even left for Toronto yet and we already had an encounter with a crazy man. It was wild though, only something to retarded could happen to us. Needless to say we told everyone at Montanas what happened.

Here is a visual of what happened:

And a photographic picture:

I dunno why the pictures came in so small, but you get the point.

Anyway, I'd usually have more to say about the actual Depeche Mode show but the old man encounter was definitely the best part of the night.

Once again I was like the youngest person at a concert, other than Kevin. So we didn't meet any ladies. I bought my mom a shirt. I got the cheapest one which was FORTY-FUCKING-FIVE BUCKS! And that's cheapest.

Anyway, nothing going on today, work tomorrow, cottage sunday and monday.

For more old man details refer to Kevin's SG blog: 0rigin. I'm sure if he hasn't said anything about it yet, he will soon.

Basically if you were a member of the SG Canada East Group you would have an idea about what the Gala is.
