As per my usual friday schedule I'm awake for 6 a.m. and out of school at noon. I met up with Ryan and we went to his place to jam before the show. We watched a G3 DVD and had some tuna casserol before everyone else showed up. Because apparently The Vatikan has no house drum set or amps we had to arrange to get all the amps and drum set there. Ryan and I went to Nicks to pick up the ol' Hydra amp and we hung around there for a while listening to music and just dicking around doing whatever. Not long after we brought the amp back I get a message from Loni who was promoting the show that Devoured would let us use their gear. So that was kinda sucked that we grabbed the amp when we didn't need it. Mike still wanted to bring his set though so we got Molemans dad to bring the van so we could bring it all.

We got to the Vatikan and got ready for a sound check. We got a knife and cut a mic hole into Mike's bass drum. It looks ugly as fuck but it works. We did the soundcheck and it sounded amazing.

This is where things get weird. Apparently a dj was also put on the bill and he'd spin before and after the bands. Little did us or Loni know that it was a rave dj. So now we have a death metal show/rave. Our set time was at 9:45 and the place was quickly filling up. The place was nearing capacity when we went on but it was full of ravers and cybergoths. We started playing and all the ravers got confused and some went outside. Others tried glowstick dancing to us. I saw one guy cover his ears when we started and walked out with his hands on his ears. A bunch of people stuck around though and really seemed to enjoy themselves. We played "Murdered from the Inside" which I've only ever played through once and it was earlier that day. So obviously instead of cram learning it we felt it was much better to get pizza and watch Dave Chappelle. So I improvised that song. But other than that the rest of the set went well. Only minor fuck-ups. We got asked by so many people for websites and merch, so I'm getting onto arranging some shirts to be made. I'm paying for our custom logo today, I'll post it when we get the full version of it.

So anyway, it's a full out rave in between sets and it's really confusing Matt Stephen and Adam Cronin. Matt started moshing with the ravers and got accused of punching a girl in the stomache and when some guy was trying to jump on Matt, Adam ran over and elbowed him in the face.

I kept offering the guys from Devoured 20 bucks to go grind up with an old lady dancing for 60 seconds. Nobody took. But they were considering.

Devoured played a great set. They covered "Van Full of Retards" and "Your kid is Deformed" by Anal Cunt and "I kill everything I fuck" by G.G. Allin. They threw a bunch of bloody tampons on the ravers, I'd imagine it wasn't real blood but still. During their set some wigger, who was there for lord knows what reasons, tried to be a big man and jump at Adam. But him and Matt were not going to have any of that, needless to say they kept their distance after that.

This guy Mike who came with Matt and Cronin took like 100 bucks worth of E and vowed that he would break somebodys nose by the end of that night. He also wanted to pay a homeless guy to draw him a picture of a penis but they ended up fighting and Cronin had to split it up. Hilarity ensued.

We ended up getting paid 36 bucks which was ironically exactly how much our pizza cost earlier in the day. So we broke even.

Raves are good for one thing though; cute girls in miniskirts in winter. Now that must make for a very cold vagina.

I got home at 2 and didn't sleep till almost 4. So I had a 22 hour day. And I was up at 9 today. SLeep is stupid anyway.

In summation, a rave was the best show we've played so far and Devoured are really cool guys.
