I just need to vent here for a second. I am really really really pissed.
I was taking drum lessons with a friend of mine for about 9 months. He moved to California and found another guy to take his place. Amazine amazine drummer. But this is the first time he has ever taught lessons before.
(keep in mind i use to date the owner of the music shop where I go) So, with this new teacher I have had a lot of concerns. He really is a big kid. Very outgoing very hyper. I use to have a lot of fun at those lessons, laughing alot. But then I soon realized that all that laughing was masking the fact that I wasnt really learning anything. My old teacher gave me things to go home and practice. This new teacher doesnt do that. So I have stopped practicing so much. Or practicing the old stuff my last teacher gave me.
Now I drive about one hour and 15 min round trip for a lesson that takes 30 min.
There was one lesson that I told him that i was having a hard time seeing the big picture. I didnt see how I was going to get to where I wanted to go. He told me I was being silly and brushed it off, That ended up being one of the worst lessons I had had. No more laughing involved. and still not a whole lot of learning anyways.
The week after that I could not go, I was sick. The next week he was sick. He called and left a message on my phone and I never checked my phone so I drove all the way over there for nothing.(but that was my fault)
So last week I just did not go. I have been an unsatisfied customer.
Then tonight I get a phone call from some girl I dont even know. She says "I am calling about your drum lessons, I guess you havent shown up for a couple of lessons and he had to give your time slot away, so give me a call if you are still interested in lessons."
What the F is that. Obviously that shows me that he does not care about me as a student. He cant even call me himself.
Me being a hairdresser, if i have knowledge to the fact that someone did not like there hair I call them (personally) and ask if there is anything I can do for them. One unhappy person they tell their friends and those people tell their friends. I know it is a little different with drum lessons. I guess me telling everyone I know that he is a bad teacher doesnt effect his money, because not too many people are looking for lessons. But I still wouldn't want anyone walking around town telling giving me a bad name.
THe owner doesnt even seem to care either. I called him and told him I was thinking about stop taking lessons with his shop, He started talking to someone in the back ground and then asked if he could call me back, which he didnt.
Could someone tell me if im wrong here. Am I being too mean. Should I keep giving him chances.
