Hey all!
It's been a memorable week for me, that's for sure. Earlier this week my cousin Christy lost her life in a horrific car accident. Details are a bit sketchy right now, but the accident is still under investigation. It has hit everybody in my family hard. My parents and I will be flying out later tonight to attend the wake and funeral.
Christy and I were best buds growing up. She is the first person that I came out to. That is how much I loved and trusted her. I can go on and on about her, but it will make me start crying again. I have been wreck and I am finally starting to act normal again. I do want to thank my friends, family, and neighbors for helping me through this rough period. I especially want to thank KW. She knew when to leave me alone and when to hold me. It was tough, but she pulled me through. Maybe that's why I married her, lol.
Well, enough of the depressing stuff. I took my dad to Old Timers Day at Yankee Stadium last Sunday. We had a blast! Watching his eyes light up when his favorite players were introduced was like watching a little kid on Christmas! He used to be a season ticket holder with his friends when we lived in The Bronx, but he never attended Old Timers Day. So now he definitely thinks I am the tits!!! I can't wait to see his face when we see Patti Smith!!!
Speaking of Patti, I just finished reading "Just Kids". What an excellent book. It is about her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe, and each of them growing into the artists that they would become. If you are a fan of either I would highly recommend this book.
Okay, while I am at critiquing, let me tell you about one of the CD's KW bought for me to help me through the past week. She knows that I am a total guitar fag, so she bought "Driving Towards The Daylight" by Joe Bonamassa. It totally kicks ass!!! I mean it! He can play the guitar, that's for sure. He has quite a voice too, so if you get the chance give it a listen.
I know I am rambling on and on, so I apologize. I am still a bit numb. All I can say is that it's probably time for a fucking titty break.

I guess that all I have to say this week. I know I have more, but my mind is racing and I have to finish packing. I will leave you with a poem about being naked. I hope you enjoy!
I Love Being Naked
Free
Out in the open
With nothing but the wind
Caressing my skin
It's not a sin
To feel this way
Without a care
Without clothes to restrict
What more can I say?
I love being naked
Don't mind who sees
In fact
If you want
You can even join me
As we frolic so happy
In the sea
Giving in to nature
Don't you know
This is how the good lord meant us all to be
Shouting out loud
I love being naked
No
This isn't about sex or lust
This is about freedom
The freedom to be free and to be me
Don't matter
If you're fat or if you're skinny
Go ahead
Trust me you won't regret
Letting go and letting loose
Come on now
Won't you?
You know
That you want to
Get crazy
Strip and get wild
You got it
We all do
So why the hell not
Let's go out and flaunt it
Undressed and proud of it
Bold as can be
We stand as one to say.....
I LOVE BEING NAKED!

On a happier note, glad you got to give your dad the ultimate Yankees fan present. When's Patti Smith? I've seen her, she's dynamic to say the least.
And as always thanks for the written word. You are so very good with words.
