Hey everyone!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there!
Yesterday was a very eventful day for me. It was Tulip Fest day here. It's kinda a big thing here. It's our annual Spring celebration. Lots of people, vendors, bands, and tulips, of course. This area was originally settled by the Dutch, so Tulips are a big thing around here.
The day started off rainy, but it did clear up. So we took the walk over to the park. Mom and Dad were with us too. It was kind of muddy, but I really wanted to see OK Go. Well right after they finished playing Get Over It the skies opened!!! Lightning, thunder, rain, and hail!!! We just took off running for cover. We got so wet! Lesson learned though. If you decide to wear white pants, and there is any chance of rain please, please wear panties! lol Especially if you are with your mom. I got yelled at so bad yesterday. Oh well. She will get over it, hopefully.
We did go back and did some shopping at the vendors stands. I bought my mom a really nice painting that she was admiring. So I guess I am back in her good graces.
Before I go on about yesterday I figure I should take a boobie break to keep you interested. So here is the first break!

Okay, now back to yesterday. After Mom and Dad left we sat down to watch a movie. I got a really old movie in the mail from Netflix. I put it in my queue more out of curiosity than anything else. I had heard about it before, but never seen it. It was "Fritz the Cat"! Well, it was good in a sociological retrospective way. Why this movie was rated X seems very strange. It just goes to show you how our mores have changed in the 38 years since it first came out. I did enjoy it, but was surprised by how tame it was. At least by today's standards.
Now, the best part of the day for me came at 11:30PM! We made a point of watching SNL last night. It was well worth it. Betty White was sooo awesome! Both of us were cracking up! Her NPR skit about muffins was hysterical! And then her balls remark in another had me falling off the couch! It was some of the best SNL stuff in a really long time! Well, that's just my opinion.
It's time for break number 2. This is for all of you who have commented on my psychedelic panties! lol

One last thing before my poems section. I have been chatting with a hopeful on FB. She is such a sweetie and has a set in Member review. Her name is Ivonne. Please go and check her and her new set out. And vote for her if you like her. I think she should go pink really soon! Thanks guys!
Okay, it's that time again. Go get a coffee or something to keep you awake. I swear I have no idea why I torture you guys with my drivel every week! Good news though. I might be taking a week off next week. I will be in NYC for the weekend, so I may not have time to write a blog. Enjoy everyone!!!
Truths
I have learned
that flattery is not friendship
that smiling faces sometimes lie
that hands extended sometimes strike
I have learned
that commitment is not eternal
that forever is sometimes never
and that promises can be fleeting.
I have learned
that intentions sometime strike a tenuous pose
that getting past what's broken
takes a greater heart and deeper strength.
and clichs about life are clichs for a reason.
I've also learned that gifts in the moment
Can mend a heart
Can shine like a star
Can strike home like the fire of truth
Can change a course of action
Can teach, and heal, and encourage.
I've learned that hoping for something
Doesn't always make it happen
Often not, in fact,
But believing in something
Can help one achieve the most amazing things.
The Quitters Song
I've gotta quit smoking,
Aint no joking
Trying with all my might
I get a funny feeling
Crawling cross the ceiling
Trying to find a match, cause I've run out of light
I've gotta quit coughing
Seems like nothing
Could ever end this curse
Hear me make a racket
As I tear another packet,
Gasping for a gasper, in the middle of a verse
I've gotta start ending,
All this spending
Brings me out in a rash
Forget the implication
Of smoking for the nation
My pockets are empty, cause I've run out of cash
(Ah cough, yeah, cough cough yeah)
I've gotta quit smoking,
Stop this choking,
Find me a healthy way
A path that I can follow
I think I'll start tomorrow,
I have to use this pack now its open, today...
