Hey All,
Not too much going on lately on my end. I just keep packing for my move in 2 weeks. I am now living amongst boxes. All of my CD's and DVD's are packed now, so today I will be packing up some of my electronics. My place looks so empty. All of my books are packed, both closets are empty, the pictures are off the wall. It feels so strange here now. Oh well, change is good, right?
Since St Patty's day is Tuesday I will be cooking dinner today for it. My folks are coming over to join Kelli and me for some good eats, lol. I will need to lay off the cabbage, if you know what I mean. lol.
I proved what a doofus I can be yesterday and got teased for it. We went over to a friends apartment yesterday to meet before going out, and I, being a thoughtful guest, brought over a freshly baked apple pie. Well, yesterday was Pi day, 3.14, yadda yadda yadda. You get the picture. They made me feel like such a dork. We had a great time though, so it was all good.
I have a busy week ahead of me. It is Spring break at the school I work at, so that means it is time to get all the work done while everyone is away. I just know I will be very tired this week. Maybe somebody can nurture me when I get home from work. I certainly hope so.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe St. Patrick's Day!
Okay, now it is time for my lame attempts at poetry. Hope you like this weeks entries.
Will You Treasure This?
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
It shares, and understands.
Its empathy.
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
It lasts and lasts,
Its patience.
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
Its bursting with life,
Its creativity.
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
Its supportiveness and loyalty,
Its camaraderie.
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
Its full of redemption.
Its forgiveness.
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
Its free from yesterday and bound to tomorrow,
Its hope.
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
Its open and without protection.
Its trust.
Will you treasure this?
My gift?
Its unconditional and never ending.
Its friendship.
My Kingdom Come
and I am a long way from there
in my kingdom come
with a broken pencil listening to Cohen
watching snowflakes fall
and I am a long way from silence
drifting in this white
ice castles melting
sometimes I'm more homeless than I thought
Hold me until I believe
in people again
in the heart of things
in the fate of things
and engage me in the responsibility
my personal one
to hold onto another
for the same reason
In my kingdom come
and gone
tell me that it was suppose to be like that
when the lesson hits hard
Remind me, that it is what you have been saying all along
in just loving me
and I will understand
the sacrifices
The snow falls
and here we are
I ask you by the fire
to throw in the words you never said
let me hold you now instead
by the clarity I have found
Let me love you now instead...
by the clarity I have found~
