Hey all!
I hope everyone had a great week! I made it back home today. Just got in a few hours ago. It feels good being home and relaxing. I am finally able to kick everything off and just be me. Don't get me wrong, I had a wonderful time in NYC all week. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to get a job there and move there. It's just that I wasn't comfortable enough staying with someone I haven't seen in a while and being myself. Ok, confession time. I live by myself, and when I want to relax I walk around in the buff. Patty is awesome, she really is, but I wasn't sure how that would go over with her, lol. So now I am relaxing! lol
I had an awesome time in NYC. I had 8 interviews, and I feel that I did great on about 5. I think I bombed on the others. For some reason they thought that experience was important!!! Can you believe that??? J/K I will get there someday and make some fabulous money!!!
The weather in the beginning of the week was pretty lousy, but it did get a lot better as the week went on. I got to visit all of the places that I wanted to and then some. I went to WTC and said a prayer. I went to St Patrick's Cathedral, the Empire State Building, and Wall Street. They actually have a McDonald's there with a piano player!!! Awesome!!!
We went out every night. We went to Joe's Pub in Brooklyn for some eats and music. I went to a sushi fusion restaurant in Queens called J J's that was incredible. And the owners were so awesome to us. We also went to a place called the Brick, which was great.
In Manhattan we hung out in Chelsea one night and went dancing - well my friends danced and I did something better described as spastic convulsions lol. I also made it to The Stonewall and called my aunt Lynn in SF to tell her. She was so proud of me. She says that I am now officially a dyke! I nearly came to tears, I was so happy! lol
On Thursday I went to see Tokio Hotel at Roseland - friggin awesome!! I was totally blown away. And finally, last night we went to the Halloween parade in the Village. OMG! IT was soooo great! The costumes were so original and great! We had a fabulous time! I did take some photos and will be posting them on here soon.
Overall, I had such a great time. I really am looking forward to moving there. I just think I would fit in so great there. I just hope I did as well on the interviews as I think I did. I am still lining up more interviews and hoping for some call backs.
I know I am rambling here, but I did try to keep it short and concise. Sorry if it came off as blabbering.
Well, this coming week will be a very important one for all of us. It's none of my business what your politics are, just make sure you go out and vote.
On that note, here are my weekly attempts at literary expression. This weeks entries are a little political and dark, well for me they are. I promise to be more upbeat in the future. I do have a few lined up for future weeks. Some are humorous, others celebrate nature, and some are just gay, lol. I hope you like the one that I have chosen for this week.
State Secrets
our generation
flying into sci-fi space
what will time be, space be, the world be in 50 years for our children?
All the secrets we will never know
the life of openness better than solitude in secrets of this world
the daily things we touch, smell, feel and say
is better than the utmost intelligence of secret agencies
better a mother, a servant, a waitress, a child
than a life surrounded by hypocrisy...a life fueled by "black project" technologies
or a life ruined by state secrets
better a nobody...than somebody encapsulated by threats when saying their conscious out loud
better a movie goer, than the principle actor in the film
it better to go into a coffee shop, than have access to the secret tunnels of NORAD
or worry as little as the dinner plans, in the joys of spending it with family
and speaking the truth without fear
It is far more rich to etch the day with the sun, turning the wheel and sleeping peacefully at night
it is better to explore the secrets of contentment
and love
rather than the mysteries of mans weapons when he goes to war
It is better to have loyalty to a clean consciousness
than to be a part of dishonest government
who serves itself all the secrets it can hold
away from accountability
in 'State Secrets Privilege'
Ethical Proxy
Somewhere in the deep pitch of madness, hate or whatever you want to call it
it's where the dark resumes standing by a lamp post
and agents with utilitarian ethics denounce the criminal's utilitarian ethics
while throwing the wrinkled McDonald hamburger wrapper on the lawn
while the illuminating figure eats a well-done steak with his children across the street
You have got to fucken lie
and become what the dark is, but it isn't too far away from the madness you see
Get these Dirty Harry's back in town to do the job
and pitch these child molesting scums over the dock
or rather just beat the shit out of them until they can no longer walk and then turn em in
take those piece of shit serial rapists and just give em life in prison period, no parole
Crime and Justice...
Where are the Buds from LA Confidential?
Where are all the Dirty Harrys?
Where are the Steve McQueens?
You know, where are all the bad boys and girls
when ya need em?
But that is not justice, that is revenge...
But when you really think about it
at times, it is only the process that separates them both
Crime and Law...
By the book, a book without blood or vein or breath
a democracy worth living
even through the suffocation
and some die, you know many die with a bullet to the head
or the gagging on blood of the punch of the worst evils seen
I'm talking cops
we need to take care of them, we need to bleed for them a little
donate some blood back
to humans who have seen the worst of men's actions
Maybe I'm corrupt
and sick of crime and the daily news
sick of people shooting people
and terrorism
and rapists
and elected politicians who care more about lobbyists
but ok I admit it
bring the damn Dirty Harrys' back
or else lie like a mother fucker undercover to catch these people
damn utilitarian ethics
what are you going to do with them?

I had a roommate and I was always wanting to walk around naked when she wasn't there. You don't know what you're missing til its gone! I plan to move to NYC when I've done my degree. So like... Julyish. 8 interviews? Thats crazy ambitious! Good luck. I just lie about experience. For some bizarre reason they care about it, even though you learn the job when you start all over again, for anything. Love NY sushi... Can't wait to see the Haloween pictures.
