Dragon*Con was a lot of fun. I definitely want to go back next year. Hopefully staying in one of the hotels that the con is actually in so we don't have the walk the four blocks back and forth to the events. It's not that far, but when you want to get to a 10:00 am panel it's annoying.
TobasElly has a bunch of pictures on his camera so when he gets around to it I guess he'll post those. I think about 98% of them are of the parade and there aren't any pictures of me (not that I mind. I don't photograph well usually.) It's all pictures of people in costume. Some of them were amazing. Some were scary. Some just looked like they put it together that morning.
I went to a bunch of panels on various topics including Prime Directive: Good Idea or Easy Way Out? and The Brilliance of Hugh Laurie. (Those are actually the first and last panels I went to respectively). I also went to a couple Q & A's. There was two with River and Wash from Firefly/Serenity (I'm just going to put the character's names instead of trying to remember their real names) and one with a table of Buffy cast members (Xander, Glory, Clem, Lorne, and a couple other demons that I don't remember)
What else ... bought a few things. New dice (mmm....frosted), cosmetic contacts (cat's eyes), Voltaire's new live CD (and got it signed!), Lunch money expansion pack (for [member=TobasElly). I think that's it.
Oh, and I drove a lot. In the dark with pouring rain! It was kinda unnerving, but I think I did pretty well. There was this one moment when a truck merged in front of me and I almost served into traffic, but everything turned out ok.
Also the day before I left I found out my job ends at the end of the month so I have to find a new assignment. I'm currently a contractor so I'm hoping I'll be able to find another assignment with my current employer. Keep your fingers crossed.
