"The Bigger The Wedding, The Shorter The Marriage"
- Anton Szandor LaVey, from Satan Speaks!
It's been a while since my last update; I've been busy working and planning, recovering from relatively minor injuries (oxycodone is my friend!), been frustrated, and I've been satisfied.
I'm getting married this Friday to the most wonderful woman! We're not having a big, fancy wedding; just going down to the Justice of the Peace (aka "The Peace of Justice") with a few family members and such and having about as simple a ceremony as possible. I've never been so sure about anything in all my life. July 14 cannot come soon enough!
In other news, she may be changing job and, if so, we'll be moving to the other side of the Gresham. She will be the AGM for a very large (I think it's the largest in the company) apartment complex of 300+ units, swimming pools, hot tubs, weight rooms, club houses (did you notice those were all plural?), etc, etc, etc. If she does get the position, we'll have to give up and dog and cat. The cat already has a good home arranged, but we're not sure what to do with Lucy, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, though finding a good home shouldn't be difficult. It's an excellent opportunity, but it's not yet a sure thing, so more on that later.
In more other news, I'm up for a promotion. It seems my boss would like to make me the Force Protection Team Supervisor. We have yet to find a tme to sit down and discuss the details, but this will likely happen next week. I'm 32 years old and I finally know what I want to be when I grow up. Of the great many things I've done in my life, there's nothing I've enjoyed half as much as working Force Protection. This is definitely a step in the right direction for me!
We're starting a new life together, new jobs and promotions on the horizon . . .
I'd say things are going well.
