meh....im irritated. thats all ill say on that.
about two weeks ago, i think, i dont really remember, i worked a lot. so, here are pictures of what i was doing. i dont have any of the final finished pictures from work because theyre being slow but these will have to do. there are lots, so i hope your computers are fast enough.
started off with cutting out a bunch of curves and stuff like that
build up and on from there
this is the space where we will tear out the existing floor and build this bar from the ground. there arent many pictures of this because it was really dusty and not much of a place for digital cameras to be trashed but at least you get the before and after. and there are the pictures on the wall that will surround the bar which i liked
these last two pictures were taken at 6:15am the morning the bar is supposed to open. i was just making my last drop of everything i had stayed up the previous night to build. i didnt sleep that day.
that week of work i worked something like 85 hours. thats a lot. i also built this table. its 14 feet long and 5 feet wide out of mahogony. its a dinning room table. i dont even wish i had a house big enough for a table that big in it. sometimes the people we do work for disgust me. in all honesty. if i hadnt been fucking around with trying to figure out how to do inlaid designs just for my own pleasure, we never wouldve gotten this job. just by chance one of our interior designers walked in while i was doing one and she wanted to use it.
one thing about rich folk, they dont appreciate much of anything. which is why the always want everything stained a dark color, they think it looks "rich". all it does is hide the wood and its natural grain. they dont know what theyre doing. this table was way expensive, more than a full size suv, made with imported wood from africa and they wanted it dark. so dark you couldnt barely see the grain and it hides all the imperfections which in reality are what make the wood so expensive in the first goddamned place. they dont realize they couldve had the same table made for a quarter of the price using cheap woods because once its that dark, it all looks the same. still turned out nice, i just wouldve gone lighter. i want to see my work.
you would think the people at work would be like hey man youve worked enough this week you should take some time off but no, there still had to be one other thing finished. these dont look like much but these pillars are nothing but detail work and that takes some serious time and attention. im actually amazed that i was able to devote enough of my attention to get them done. these are for an entertainment center in yet another rich fucks house.
so after that week, maybe i shouldve rested. but, after working way too late that saturday i somehow managed to make it home to bake and decorate a creepy ass cake for Coppers birthday. i thought it wouldve been nice for all of us to surprise her at Tikkis get together but she didnt even show up. The cake was pretty good though and unfortunately i dont have any pictures of it. Snowtubbing was probably one of the funnest experiences ive had in a long time. i laughed a lot and just had a really good time. Thanks to Tikki for inviting me over and being a great host. everyone there was a blast to hang out with. im just sorry that i was so beat that i passed out the earliest. even though i told everyone there that would happen. they were all nice and just let me sleep though. sucoF had a bit too much to drink and then this happened.
