I've been sitting at the Elliott bay bookstore and cafe looking at the Stranger for the last... 20 minutes.
I COULD HAVE SPENT THOSE 20 MINUTES BLOGGING.
Anyway, I'm here for a reading of THE FILM CLUB. The author and his kid (the kid the book is about) are here tonight. My friend Lily went to see them in NY and she said she was one of three people there. It broke her heart. and it breaks my heart. So I'm here.
I may even ask a question, even if I don't have any in mind. Just to make them happy. Or something.
If I were a richer dude I'd offer them a beer.
Imagine that, though. Being on a country-wide book tour with your dad. Do they fight? Are they relishing it? I should ask them if they fight. They've been on the road for three weeks after all.
"Dad, lets stop at that strip club."
"Son, you've already made me stop at three strip clubs this week. ENOUGH ALREADY!"
Yeah. I bet its just like that.
This week has been lonely and depressing. I've spent every night at home watching movies and reading books, not because it's exactly what I want to be doing, but because I'm broke.
At least bookstore readings are free.
Though I just dropped $7 on a croissant and coffee (this'll be my dinner, probably).
Anyway. I'm here. I'm queer. Get used to it.
I watched Soylent Green last night and it RULED. What a great movie.
Next on the www.filmspotting.net 70s sci-fi movie marathon is Logan's Run, a movie that I last watched with Hillary. I remember liking it but I don't remember the movie all that well. I just know that dude from the first Austin Powers movie is the main guy. Some british guy. He's in the Left Behind movies now.

Call me predictable, but one of my favorite things about the 70's Sci-fi marathon is the hot 70's sci-fi bitches.
