maybe I AM the goddamn villain here.
picturing her in some apartment in downtown miami (Why she decided to move there of all places is entirely beyond me), by herself. i hate it. i feel terrible. i left her with the cats. i know they were hers to begin with but still-- i just fucking left.
fuck.
okay.
onto other things. i'm in a bakery called Verite Coffee. or maybe it's something else.
I don't know.
Today is a day of wandering and looking and maybe some buying. I want a shelf for my bedroom. I want to take my books out of my luggage.
Here's the plans-- first, I'm at this bakery. I'm downloading itunes into this laptop so that I can keep listening to my podcasts. NPR, Filmspotting, IFanboy, I miss all of you dearly.
I've just had a chocolate chocolate cupcake and i'm drinking some good-ass coffee.
After itunes is installed i'm going to look for a place called Fantagraphics books. i think it looks goddamn awesome and i've read at least one or two fantagraphics books in my time. also, there's a mystery bookstore somewhere in seattle, and i think i'm gonna find that today.
beyond getting my week's comic books I don't see myself getting too much else. i'm taking it easy on the money, esp because it costs money to just do stuff. stuff like watching movies and bands. I plan on doing both of those this evening, too.
Maybe i should go to thexperience music thing. also, i heard there's a sci fi museum here. i could beat off, there's so much to look at and do.
I already posted this in the seattle group but i'll post it here too-- if anyone's in the area and wants to be driven around all day, I'd be more than happy to. if anyone wants to show me their favorite restaurant or comic shop or movie theatre or gallery or whatever, Hit me up here or at killbot24@gmail.com.
I get my email through my phone now so just buzz me and i'll drive over.
There's a metal band called LESBIAN here that I've listened to through their myspace page and I'd like to see them tonight. or there's Gimme Shelter, one of the best movies I've ever seen, playing at the egyptian.
also I'd like to see the Counterfeiters, which won the best foreign language statue at the oscars this year.
So much to do. so much to look at and eat.
Yes. so I'm sad. there's heartbreak in my life. there's doubt and confusion and regret. but there's also a great new city to look at, and great new bakeries to eat at.
Last night I went out for drinks with my friend Danny who is the only other miami transplant i know in town. It was good to talk spanish, drink good beer, and meet his new BFFE in seattle, a guy named patrick. Nice dude. At the second bar we were at we saw Miranda July. Not that i would ever dream of approaching any celebrity or whatever but it was nice to see her, as pretty as she is, out with friends.
These kids are seated to my right. Too much cute.
