Five-Minute fiction - 00:00-00:05
There is some level of anticipation on my part, Ill not lie, Caster said. He lounged in one of the two chairs that occupied Alabasters chambers.
Anticipation, or expectation? Alabaster asked. And get your boots off my desk!
Caster dropped his feet to the stones and straightened up. Yes, there is some level of expectation, I have not returned to Ethera on a whim, Alabaster, Im looking for something, and I think its here, or at least nearby.
In the forest?
I dont know. Perhaps. Theres no harm in looking.
No harm in looking? Alabaster said, shocked. He turned to face the window that overlooked the courtyard and stared out beyond the wall to the dark mass of trees that seemed to ever closer in the darkness. You do realize what the forest is full of, dont you?
Some form of infected citizenry, yes? Ghuls, I think you call them.
Ghuls are just one of the many creatures. I cannot begin to tell you what inhabits the forest. We do out best to keep the monsters suppressed but its getting harder
