Five-Minute fiction - 10:02-10:07
The world flickered into existence. Details coalescing out of the Void as Farrus dropped through the Wellspring of Time and landed on the soft grass of the Plains of Ethera. He winced slightly as the cool autumn air seeped into his lungs with the first breath in what seemed like an eternity beyond the Void and in the stinking slag pits of Hullon. But the air on Ethera was refreshing nonetheless. He straightened and took a moment to survey the vast, sweeping prairie that surrounded him.
It stretched from horizon to horizon. Long, thin, blades of yellow-white grass that rolled in time with the churning air that blew in from the sea. It seemed almost an eternity since he had stood on these plains, and yet it remained the same, as if unchanged by time or by the rampaging war that had consumed the Omniverse.
Farrus pressed his hands together, palms inward and recited the Ritual of Closing. He heard the dynamics of the air change as the portal to the Void spiralled inward and vanished
