Look, I dont exactly have time right now to deal with this. I just got home from work, and I havent even gotten dinner started, Thom said as he held the receiver between his head and shoulder and tried to flip through the mail.
The voice on the other end of the line was frantic, talking about overdraft, credit debt, Thom couldnt be bothered.
Call back later, thank you, he said letting the phone drop and catching it deftly. He thumbed the End button the incessant chatter at the end of the line disappeared and silence reigned.
He flipped through the mail, sorting the bills and other identifiable letters from the junk mail and advertisements. With a glance at a particularly graphic junk-ad he wondered if companies did anything they said they would. He remembered calling the number and asking them to have his address removed from the mailing list, but now that he thought of it, he couldnt remember exactly when he had done it. Best to give them another couple of weeks, the machinations of bureaucratic machine moved glacially slow when customers requested a termination of a service
