Five-Minute fiction - 23:40-23:45
Long amber waves of grass stretched to the horizon their tops swaying seductively in the soft breeze. It was a strange sight to look on as they blades of grass rolled in great waves. Cresa pushed the door of the automobile open and stepped down onto the dirt track that was a called a road in these parts. Small puffs of dust and grit leapt into the air and were caught by the wind and carried away. The sound of more doors opening and closing cut through the soft rustle of the grass driving back the pleasant sound.
Cresa strode down the embankment toward the clear patch of ground that separated the long grass from the road. The guide had said that these areas had been cleared to allow the goats greater protection against the lions that had been driven into the tall grasses by the encroachment of man upon their territories. A few goats could be lost, that was to be expected but the savage ferocity with which the lions struck meant those goats not killed in the attack
