Movie Marathon - Got in movies for the Video Club and for our own collection so it's review time:
Wall Street: Seen it before but it still rules and the bonus scene analyses rule. Daryl Hannah should not be allowed to live though.
Don Juan DeMarco: yeah it's a little cheesy but if you have any romanticism at all it's great. Johnny Depp always a plus.
America's Sweethearts: kind of stale but some good laughs and John Cusack can make anything bearable. Absolutely no need for the Doberman crotch licking scene, and Julia Roberts needs a better bra.
Lost in Translation: excellent movie! Scarlett there should be a titch older though to eliminate the residual predatory older guy thing, but if you ignore that and are actually paying attention you oughta love it, esp. if you've been to Tokyo. It's really like that.
Brother Bear: once again Disney manages to fuck up a perfectly decent premise by flinging sappy PC imagery and Phil Collins at it. Wasted humorous moments. Damn shame.
House of Sand and Fog: WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? One of the most pathetic attempts at a depressing film I've ever seen. This most sympathetic character in this film was the fucking coffee table that kept getting knocked over and I swear the only moral I can get out of this is "Open your mail".
Bad Boys II: I left the room halfway through. Maybe I need a bigger screen and huge speakers to get into this.
Big Fish: OH MY GOD! THIS IS THE BEST FUCKING MOVIE!!! ONLY Tim Burton could have done this well, but I am just in awe that Tim Burton took on such a different and emotional piece. Bravo.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Seen it before. Still good though.
The Best of Dr. Seuss: I love Horton the Elephant... Too bad there's no Lorax on it though.
And that was my boring ass weekend.

i love your review on "house of sand and fog"!!
Too bad you're halfway around the world!
And thanks for the compliment re: my eyes. They actually are that color, but I DO have pupils - the flash just blew them out in that photo.
Cheers!
