I'm sick again. And just in time to have no voice for training. Well, at least it frees up my schedule...
So I hear that the Feds are goin after the Hell's Angels again, and one of the feds is quoted as saying "If you have a toys-for-tots run on the same day you're cooking methamphetamine, which is your real persona?"
BOTH, yay-hoo... And of course there's thousands of people lining up to lynch the whole group, regardless. I am so sick of people who are just dying to judge exactly "who" a person is by the two paragraphs they've read about them in the media, generally so they can throw stones at them. Punish a person's criminal activities, I get that, but no wonder people in the US are so fucking pent up and pissed off.
I swear it's like if you do one bad thing, that is who you are and always will be, or, according to your aunt and grandmother at the trial hearing, are incapable of such things, because they can't stand to think of you as capable of vice and virtue like a normal human being, because they'd actually have to *think* of you and be involved in your life, your real life, instead of tossing you aside or ruining their angel image of "you", which is just as bad, I figure...
Either way noone seems like they can be bothered to actually be involved in the person's life, they just do a little judging and preaching to make themselves feel better, or superior, or whatever. Or conversely they're so afraid of hurting their "relationship" with people or groups they do know, that they can't deal with ruining their less-than-darling image of them, or tell them they're acting full of shit when they REALLY need to hear it? How cowardly, how selfish.
So that's my rant for the day. Love your flawed fellow man, dammit.

I've felt that whole "let's hate people due to one blurb" thing...for instance I used to play D&D and when my mom found out, she really sobbed and told me never to play those "demon dice games." Well, she got over it as she was able to look past the one or two isolated, yet highly publicized incidents of satanic/suicide practices, and realize the game for what it was: her son being creative and enjoying some healthy fantasy role-playing.
Likewise, I am a computer gamer (video gamer as well), and I resent the idea that just because a few people MIGHT have done violence due to an influence from a game, that suddenly all video game violence is bad. Etc. I worded that badly, but it's late afternoon and I've exceed MY quota of thinking as well...stupid work...
