"This might sound harsh, but are you saying you don't trust people because they could die at any moment? That doesn't make sense to me. It isn't a person's fault when they die (to a certain degree), so I don't see how that translates into not trusting the individual. I can understand how you wouldn't trust life, but you can still trust people.
You can always get closure on any issue at any time, you just have to be willing to take the time and face the issue square in the face. This will probably be extremely painful, but it is a process to work through. For a lot of people, talking to some sort of a professional helps to get some idea of how to begin to heal.
Your life was severly shaken and it is understandable to have your view after that, but I've always believed that the worst thing you can do when someone close to you dies is pull away from life. They no longer have the "opportunity' to live in this world. They are gone, you are here, and one should try and live like every breath is your last. If not in tribute to the life and love you shared with that individual. Don't let fear taint every facet of your life. Let go and learn to connect again. Every minute of time spent with an individual who you connect with on this pain ridden plane is worth the hundreds of minutes spent alone and wondering."

I lost my grandfather last summer and it broke my heart. I still cry about it, (I just started crying right now). But that's normal. It's fine to grieve.
I hope that you're doing well
