oh yes, nine inch nails was awesome. it was fantastic to see mr reznor himself mere inches from me at the front of the crowd. the crowd wasnt rowdy enough for me to die (since i was/am still sick).
the opener was...well...an opener i guess. every time i started to like them, they changed the pace of the song, or started doing something retarded, and it totally made them annoying. the singer reminded me, vaguely, of a hairy, english, masculine, fiona apple. i know, that doesnt help much but whatever. they did do war pigs which luckily was NOT butchered. lucky for them i mean, or i would have charged the stage and bashed some skulls.
most of NINs set was older material, only 3 new songs all night. well 4 i guess, but the 4th one was not from with teeth. im guessing its from the 2nd album worth of material he is going to be releasing later this year, that just wouldnt fit on the current cd. they played my current favorite song immediatly after they played trish's favorite song (my friend from PA who is madly in love with trent). i suppose the show was a good bday gift for her
the only odd thing about the show, other than trent going apeshit in the middle of gave up, was that there was no encore. i thought it was pretty much a given that every band ever always played one! damnit! the show was over so early it was silly. 11pm i think we walked out of the place to the car. NIN did play for a good 2 hours though, from what i remember of the times, so i guess there was no need for them to come back out on stage
trent going apeshit : discuss. they were having LOADS of trouble with his mic all night, after EVERY single song, they traded his mic/stand out for a new one. i didnt hear much difference initially, but after a while you could tell the mics were cutting out occasionally, but during gave up, the mic...well...gave up. the last thing you heard before the mic died completely (in more than one way) was trent growling 'someone better fix this or im going to break something'. he promptly threw the mic stand into their big display at the back of the stage smashing many many lights, then pounded the mic itself into the stage over and over, mutilating it. then he ran over to the poor bassist, and kicked him off the side of the stage, then grabbed a random guitar and smashed it in half, then kicked half the drummers gear over. i couldnt help but laugh, it was retarded. the best part was the fact that through ALL of this chaos, the band kept right on playing (and well i might add), singing the chorus, even though some of them were lieing on their backs offstage, and the drummer was missing all of his cymbals. fucking hysterical.
end result : absolutely best show ive seen in years, hands down. if they played any more amazing songs i would have burst in half with joy.

Thank you so much. I've been throwing around "I want to meet you again"'s, but yes, I really would like to see you again.
I'm glad that you were well enough for the concert.
