ooo i always forget to update this anymore. here goes...
the closing on the house got pushed back a few more times but we ended up moving in on april fools day yes thats right, i have heat AND electricity AND hot water, unlike the last place i was staying. spiffy! i just got done shampooing the last carpet. its taken me awhile because my last few weekends were too busy to do anything. the shitty part is i may need to have some pro's come in and do it again because they are still fucked up. or maybe ill skip that and just tear out all the carpet and redo the hardwood underneath. thats a project for a warmer time though!
ive been sick sick sick since wednesday. i blame my job. working for the worlds 3rd largest creator of vaccines has its downfalls. the facility im at manufactures all sorts of unsavory diseases in order to create the vaccines. just imagine what can happen if someone doesnt wash their hands!
not too much else is new. my father got his pacemaker put in on monday. the operation went decently well except for some things they had to do differently because of his condition. the right side of his heart is so scarred from the heart attack that they couldnt get a signal from the pacemaker through it, so they had to hook it up 'backwards' with the less important wire hooked to the scar tissue. they also had to install the pacemaker on the right side of his chest, not above his heart like usual. this is also because of the scar tissue from the 3 or 4 times they cut into his chest following the initial surgery to fix things they fucked up.
my stepmother looked into a lawsuit against the hospital but apparently the records are 'mysteriously' short on details about what happened, so she would be essentially guaranteed to lose the case. according to a doctor i know, when things go wrong on the operating floor, regardless of the cause, the doctors are supposed to specify every last detail of what happens. this is to a) protect the patient after the surgery b) to protect the doctor from malpractice suits. sadly, most doctors do not do this. if you read my fathers surgery notes, it was a perfectly routine triple bypass surgery. there was no mention of the 3 extra times in 24 hours they had to cut him open again and again to fix problems. nada. zip. zero. zilch.
is it just me or has the internet gone sour? maybe its because ive been online since the days of BBS's, or maybe its because im online for 12+ hours a day. the whole place feels like a giant empty wasteland anymore. very very rarely do i even find anything to read or watch or do that seems worth the effort. sites like myspace make me want to vomit. i met a few new people yesterday and more than once i got asked 'are you on myspace?'. what ever happened to asking for a phone number, or even an email address, to have some real honest to goodness conversations? of course i have a myspace, but only because a few of my out of state friends REFUSE to communicate otherwise. i would delete my account right this instant if i could convince them to do otherwise. what a waste of time...
meh. im going to update my location i suppose and go cough up some more green shit since thats about all im capable of doing at this point.
